Does anyone else find it odd that an estimated 3% of the population gets so much media attention? Or that 3% of the population are strong arming their way through, forcing acceptance for their deviant behaviours (by definition, any behavior outside the norm is "deviant")

I think the whole reason of having a Gay Pride month is to encourage gays to not be afraid. I believe it's similar to the idea of Black History month and other ideology that people celebrated on a certain month.
Remember, back in the day, it wasn't easy to be gay. They were ridiculed and opressed. Celebrating Gay Pride tells everyone that it's ok to be gay.
Now why there's no Straight Pride? Come on now... you're just missing the point.
