Lamborghini Newport Beach in Costa Mesa, CA announced they are accepting Bitcoin as legal tender. They just recently sold a Tesla Model S to a customer with Bitcoin.
"Lamborghini Newport Beach is proud to announce that we are fully capable of accepting Bitcoin as payment for vehicles. We are excited to be opening the door to this new currency."
To those who don't know Bitcoin, it is an open source person-to-person electronic tender that uses cryptography to secure transactions.
Bitcoins are not regulated by any country or banking authority. It surged to a record $1,124.76 on Nov. 30. The currency has rallied on growing interest from investors, while merchants are starting to accept Bitcoins and U.S. officials have told lawmakers such payments could be a legitimate means of exchange.
