If you have not open your Snapchat app the past few days, you will probably surprised when you open it. You can now actually use it to send text messages. You can now switch from sending pictures or video snaps to sending texts. So I guess they're moving towards competing with Kik, Whatsapp, and similar mobile messaging services.
Snapchat has an edge in playing the mobile messaging arena. One of it's biggest plus is that majority of users use it to send naked photos knowing that the message disappears afterwards. It's the feeling of thrill that teenagers do.
A statement from one of its founder said:
“The goal has always been to move beyond messaging. We’re trying to take the traditional text conversation and make it better.”
Goodluck to Snapchat. They definitely need to bring more features to Snapchat than just the capability to send sleazy photos after declining the $3 billion offer from Facebook.
