Sam Hurd stood before U.S. District court judge Jorge A. Solis on Wednesday in federal court in Dallas and begged for forgiveness and leniency. The government had recommended a life sentence without the possibility of parole, but the Judge instead sentenced the former Cowboys and Bears receiver to 15 years in federal prison for his involvement in marijuana and cocaine trafficking.
